Kourawhero Country Lodge sits at the top of a valley, on a large private estate with forest, bush walks and amazing waterfalls. Parts of the estate are designated as areas of 'Outstanding Natural Landscape'.

The suites have a wonderful sense of space with lofted ceilings, huge windows and uncluttered style. They are equipped with the latest technology, including iPod sound system and computer-controlled massage bath. Accommodation is spread across the property, ensuring you maximum privacy.

At the centre of Kourawhero Country Lodge is the main house, which offers 3 dining areas and 4 lounges. It provides a year-round welcoming atmosphere with 4 large open fires and wide verandas.

Emerge from a relaxing spa treatment into the early evening air while the sun goes down. The lodge also has a Sanarium, a gym, an outdoor swimming pool with sun deck, a golf chipping range and a tennis court.

The business centre allows you to catch up on work if you need to. A pick up from the airport or the local bus depot can be arranged.

Golfers will have a great time chipping balls on Kourawhero's own 90-metre bush chipping range. Tee off from a grassy knoll over the tree tops. If you hit the target, you get a prize!

The lodge has its own archery range and can provide tuition by arrangement.

Dinner is a 5-course menu using fresh local produce, prepared in a 'contemporary New Zealand' style. It combines the best influences from Asia, the South Pacific and traditional haute cuisine, and is complemented by a fine wine list. The chef can create special dishes on request.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory with a selection of traditional country items and fresh, healthy options.
